The MS Hug – There are two different effects of MS that may trigger an MS hug:
- Muscle spasms in the small muscles between the robs ( the intercostal muscles)
- Changes in sensation (called dysaesthesia), which are sometimes, but not always painful.
My “hug” seems to happen if I let myself get too fatigued.
It feels like a tightness around my ribs. I am mindful of it and if it occurs, I stay calm and relaxed. It goes away for me, in about 5-10 minutes.
When this occurs, it seems I need more rest. So, I do my best to get it.
