The experience of tremor varies from person to person. For many, it feels like a lack of control of their movements. Tremors can be pronounced or slight. For instance, some people experience minor tremors, which affects their handwriting. In others, tremor is so significant that they cannot write at all.
Types of Tremors
Intention Tremor: The most common and generally most disabling form of tremor for people with MS. It generally occurs when you move and not when you are at rest. The tremor develops and becomes more pronounced if you grasp or reach for something or move your hand or foot to a precise location.
Postural Tremor: This tremor happens when you are sitting or standing and using your muscles to resist gravity. You won’t experience a Postural Tremor when laying down.
Resting Tremor: Generally this type of tremor is greatest when the body part is at rest. It is diminished with movement.
