Update Posts

This is where I will be posting updates to my daily life.

  • Living with microscopic colitis (MC)

Involves managing chronic watery diarrhea and urgency through dietary changes (low-fat, low fiber, avoiding triggers like caffine, alcohol and lactose). Taking medications like budasonide to control symptoms, as it’s often a lifelong condition affecting quality of life, but can be managed for remission with doctor’s guidance. Key strategies include staying hydrated with electrolytes, eating small meals of soft foods (bananas, rice), avoiding trigger foods and seeking treatment for flares.

I currently have finished my dosage of budasonide with success, and am trying one tablet every other day – to see if I can remain symptom free this way.

  • Living with multiple sclerosis (MS)

Involves managing a chronic condition through a blend of medical treatments, lifestyle adjustments, and strong support, focusing on energy conservation, regular but adaptive exercise, stress management, and diet to maintain quality of life, as MS symptoms vary but can effectively be managed for a normal lifespan with proper care.

  • You may not get to choose the path you’re on

But you can choose how you walk it.

    Happy New Year!

  • I’m not drunk

I have MS. It’s like being drunk, but without the fun part.

  • NEVER LET

    YOUR ILLNESS DEFINE YOU.

    YOUR ILLNESS HAREDN YOUR HEART.

YOUR ILLNESS KEEP YOU FROM SMILING. (Even if it’s through the tears).

YOUR ILLNESS TELL YOU WHO YOU ARE OR WHO YOU CAN BE.

NEVER GIVE UP. YOU DESERVE A HAPPY LIFE.

What a cure for MS means

I remember when I was first diagnosed the doctor told me, “Don’t worry Kim, they are making a lot of progress with Multiple Sclerosis research. They’ll have a cure soon.” What I have learned, is how complex and incredibly wonderful our bodies are, and what an important role our nervous system plays in enabling our bodies to function properly.

What a cure for MS means: 1) ending disease activity for those of us who have MS.

2) Restoring what has been lost by repairing the nervous system and re-training the body how to function.

3) End the disease forever by finding the cause of MS and what triggers it, and protecting against it.

What a wonderful day when MS can be cured and prevented! Thank you to all who are working on this!
